EntiScan Privacy Policy

Last updated:

EntiScan is a browser extension that analyzes the active web page to produce a local SEO audit, including technical and on-page signals, heading structure, links, images, structured data, social metadata, entities, and semantic coherence.

Local processing

EntiScan processes page information directly in the user’s browser. The extension does not require an account, does not use its own backend to run audits, and does not automatically send analyzed content to external servers.

Data processed

To run an audit, EntiScan may process information associated with the active page locally, including its URL, title, visible content, SEO-relevant HTML structure, links, images, metadata, structured data, and other signals related to the analysis.

Optional connection to EntiScan Web

Starting with version 0.2.0, you can optionally connect an EntiScan Web workspace to save audits. The extension continues to work without an account or connection. There is no automatic sync, scheduled auditing, or background tracking.

The connection is authorized on the web; the password is not stored in the extension. Connecting does not send audits. For each transfer, you must select “Save to EntiScan Web,” choose a project, review the summary, and confirm.

What is sent when you confirm

The normalized URL, date and audit versions, SEO metadata, findings, recommendations, observed entity names and relationships, limited headings, link and image counts, and summaries of technical, social, and structured-data signals are sent. This information is saved to the selected project to provide history and snapshot comparison.

Titles, headings, and entity names may contain identifying information about a page. Do not send audits of private or sensitive pages. Tracking parameters are removed and URLs with recognized credential or session parameters are rejected; these measures cannot guarantee that all sensitive information on a page will be detected.

Data excluded from the transfer

Sync does not send full HTML, full JSON-LD, screenshots, the audited site’s cookies, localStorage or sessionStorage, form fields, input contents, passwords, or site session headers. No additional page data is collected for sync. Audits are calculated locally, without remote AI analysis.

Connection, storage, and revocation

The extension stores an EntiScan-owned token and minimal connection metadata in chrome.storage.local, including a pending temporary authorization. It does not store passwords or GSC tokens. The token can read the user’s projects and save audits after confirmation; it expires after 30 days and can be revoked from Settings → Connected Extensions.

“Disconnect” deletes the local token and attempts to revoke it on the server. If a connection is unavailable to confirm revocation, the interface reports this and lets you revoke it from the web. Revoking or disconnecting prevents new transfers from that connection and does not delete audits already saved. Audits remain in the web workspace, including its backups, according to the service’s operation; contact the address below with deletion questions. The interface does not provide permanent deletion.

EntiScan Web requires an account with a name, email, and password. The service stores a password hash and uses its own session cookies. The extension does not read or reuse those cookies. The web session is separate from the extension token.

Telemetry and tracking

The current version of EntiScan does not use telemetry, analytics, or usage-tracking systems.

Audit exports

EntiScan creates exported files locally on the user’s device. EntiScan does not automatically send those files or their contents to external services.

Feedback

Users can voluntarily start a feedback email from the extension. The audited page URL is included only if the user explicitly selects that option. EntiScan does not automatically attach HTML, findings, structured data, or the complete audit.

Browser permissions

EntiScan uses activeTab, scripting, and sidePanel to temporarily access the page you choose to analyze, run the local extractor, and show results. Version 0.2.0 adds storage for the optional connection and access only to https://entiscan.navquo.com/* to authorize it, retrieve your projects, and send confirmed audits. It does not request access to all sites.

Sale or transfer of data

EntiScan does not sell data or use it for advertising. When you confirm a transfer, structured data is sent to EntiScan Web to provide the requested feature; it is not sent to analytics services, remote AI, or GSC.

Limited use of data

EntiScan uses processed data only to provide the audit features the user requests. It is not used for advertising, commercial profiling, credit evaluation, or purposes unrelated to the product’s core functionality.

Limited Use compliance

EntiScan’s use of information complies with the Chrome Web Store User Data Policy, including its Limited Use requirements.

Changes to this policy

This policy may be updated if EntiScan adds features, integrations, or services. Any material change will be reflected on this page.
